Learn the basics of sewing in this starting from scratch class

  • Learn how to operate a sewing machine including; threading the machine, winding a bobbin, and how to use different stitch settings.
  • Practice the straight and zigzag stitch.
  • Learn how to read a commercial pattern, including how to determine what you will need for your project.
  • Learn about fabric and how to cut out a pattern properly.
  • Go over proper sewing room set up for successful sewing, where we will talk about essential tools to get started, and then a few extras to help make things easier.
What you need to bring: an easy beginner pattern. (Pajama pants, a simple skirt, apron, or hand bag are all good options, try to avoid anything with darts, binding, or knit fabric), please make sure it is the right size for you before you buy it. You will need your bust, waist, and hip measurements if you are making garments. Note: ***pattern sizes differ greatly from store clothing sizes, always check your measurements with the pattern before you buy.***
